Well, things didn't go quite according to plan on the weekend, but having a busload of supporters all wearing specially made T-Shirts,blowing whistles and waving banners was so fantastic.  My K2 race was disappointing as Yanda and I had been paddling more confidently than we did in the final.  We tore through the heat finishing 1st, but managed 4th in a close final.  After winning the K1 heat, I didn't post the same time in the final and came in 5th, 1 sec behind the winner.  It was extremely close with only .5sec separating 2nd to 6th placings.  K4 was a confident boosting race, where we came in 2nd.

Well I’m really living the journey and as we all know we make choices on how we live everyday and I’m so glad I made the choice to pursue this dream. I have wonderful people around me every minute of the day, I’m really learning more about myself and challenging myself in so many more ways than “just the physical” and I’m loving the anticipation of everyday.
 
We have just had the opening of our new extensions on the Manly Warringah Kayak Club and it’s wonderful to see our sport growing in all directions and the great support and people helping this community be a great place to live!

Now it’s the final preparations for the National championships and the Olympic Qualifications. Guy has our whole team extremely well prepared and all looking forward to doing “PB’s” (personal bests) which is what we are all striving for- right!
